Privacy
Your images never leave your browser. ColorSmith runs entirely on your own machine — the color counting and the color reduction both happen on your device, not on a server.
What this page does
- Reads the image you choose and processes it in your browser. Counting colors and reducing them run locally, in your device's own memory, using WebAssembly.
- Loads its own files from colorsmith.app — the page, its styles and scripts, the example images, and the processing engine.
- Remembers two small preferences on your device. Whether you last used Wipe or Side-by-side, and whether you dismissed the “leave this page?” warning. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
- Counts anonymous page views, through Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare hosts this site, and states that this analytics product uses no cookies and does not fingerprint visitors. As with any web host, Cloudflare also handles the connection itself — including your IP address — in order to deliver the page to you.
What this page does not do
- Does not upload your image — not to us, not to anyone. There is no server that receives it.
- Does not keep your image. Reload or close the tab and it is gone.
- Does not set cookies.
- Does not use ad networks, trackers, or social widgets, and — apart from the Cloudflare analytics beacon described above — loads nothing from any other domain. No third-party fonts, scripts, or images.
- Does not ask for your name, your email, or an account. There is nothing to sign up for here.
- Does not offer your result as a download. This page is a demo — the result stays on screen.
Questions about any of this are welcome — hello@colorsmith.app. If what the page does ever changes, this list changes with it.
